David DeSurra of the Convict Lake Resort (800-992-2260) said, "This was a week to be remembered. More than 60 beautiful F&G and Alper's Trophy Rainbow trout were weighed in during the last four days. F&G unloaded 150 three-year-old brood stock in the 5-6 pound range and another 250 two-year-old brood stock in the 3 pound range on Aug. 1. The day before, Tim Alpers stocked 300 pounds (about 75 rainbows) of his trophy trout, up to 8.16 pounds.

The largest trout of the week were: a 8.16-pounder on a black fly at the south shore, a 7.18-pounder on a nightcrawler at the inlet, a 6.5-pounder on a Mepps spinner at the inlet, a 6.4-pounder on rainbow Power Bait in the lake, a 6.26-pounder on yellow Power Bait at the inlet, a 6.0-pounder on yellow Power Bait at the inlet and a 5.9-pounder on Chartreuse Power Bait on the north shore.

A father, mother and four sons (ages 12-10-8-6) caught a total of 26 pounds of rainbow trout.

CROWLEY LAKE: No report.

Dave Meserve of the Eagle Lake Marina (530-825-3454) sent in this report: "Despite being somewhat slower over the weekend as the full moon set in, the majority of anglers continued to catch trout but with fewer limits being reported. Trout are averaging 2-5 pounds. Use of nightcrawlers, both trolling and stillfishing from boats continues to be the most productive. Rainbow Runners and Needlefish lures, with or without flashers, ran a close second."

June Lake: Best to troll with 5.5 colors of leadcore line with perch colored Rapala lures for cutthroat trout. Black Woolly Bugger flies working very early in the morning in front of Boulder Lodge for float tubers.

Silver Lake: Power Bait, Thomas Bouyant lures or Light Cahill, Mosquito and Woolly Bugger flies.

Rush Creek: Many fish over 4 pounds on nightcrawlers.

SACRAMENTO RIVER:Kirk Portocarrero of Outdoor Adventures Sport Fishing in Redding, Calif. (800-670-4448) gave this report: Anderson to Red Bluff: King salmon fishing is slow. A few anglers are hooking 1-3 salmon per boat on some days. Water flow is at 12,500 CFS. They are using T-50 Flatfish lures or bouncing roe. The average size is 12-14 pounds."

SHASTA LAKE: Kirk Portocarrero of Outdoor Adventures Sport Fishing in Redding, Calif. (800-670-4448) gave this report: Rainbow trout and king salmon fishing is still fantastic. Seeing limits in the early morning, around the dam. Fish are in the 1-7 pound range. Trolling shad pattern lures with downriggers at 100-120 feet deep."

SOUTH-NORTH-INTAKE 2-BISHOP CREEK (WEST OF BISHOP):

The Bishop Creek Lodge (760-873-4484) checked in with this report: The weather has been different each day. Early in the week was great then some breezes came up on Wednesday which went to stiff breezes on Saturday.

South:The top trout was a 7-pound, 14-ounce Alper's on a white tube jig and mealworm. The lake is beginning to go down a little (about an inch per day) but is still full. The fishing has been great with a full stocking by F&G on Monday and Tim Alpers on Thursday. Most anglers are catching full limits with Power Bait being the most popular bait. Trolling has really picked up with good results using lead core line at four colors with a Needlefish lure.

North: Power Bait and nightcrawlers were the top ticket. Thomas Buoyant and Kastmaster lures did real well. Fly fishermen were using the brown or olive Matuka or olive Funky Bugger flies.

Intake No. 2: The top trout was a 6-pound, 1-ounce rainbow on a nightcrawler. Power Bait and nightcrawlers were the top ticket. Thomas Buoyant and Kastmaster lures did real well. Fly fishermen were using the brown or olive Matuka or olive Funky Bugger flies.

LAKE TAHOE - North Shore: Mickey Daniels of Mickey's Big Mack Charters (800-877-1462) reported, "We held the Big Mack Feed fundraiser last Friday evening at the Tahoe City Golf Course and it was a big success, as usual. We went out fishing Saturday morning, caught six, average-sized Mackinaw and lost about the same number. We were really rocking and rolling due to the wind. I had to cut my trip short because of the wind and rough water. One of the fishermen got seasick.

WALKER LAKE: Bob Tompkins of the Gun and Tackle Store in Hawthorne (775-945-3266) said, "A few reports of some limited fishing success. A few boats are fishing deep (60-70 feet) in front of the cliffs. Other than that, it is mostly jet skiers and water skiing. It's not too much fun to be out fishing right now because of the hot weather.

WALKER RIVERS (EAST-WEST-LITTLE):

East Walker (Nev.): Some rainbows and German browns in the 12-14 inch class are being caught on Panther-Martin or small gold Phebe lures in The Elbow" area.

West Walker (Nev.): No report.

West Walker (Calif.):Low and crystal clear. Difficult to fish.

Little Walker: Low and crystal clear. Continues to produce easy limits of small brookies and rainbow trout on worms in the Willow Flat area.

WEBER RESERVOIR: Bob Tompkins of the Gun and Tackle Store in Hawthorne (775-945-3266) reported that Weber is now closed to fishing due to low water levels. All access roads are roped off.

WILDHORSE RESERVOIR: Dennis Dunn of the Wildhorse Resort (775-758-6472) gave this report: "Great weather, up here. Yesterday, we had a high of 96 degrees and it dropped way down to 33 degrees last night. Our elevation is 6,205 feet. Not very much fishing due to the road being closed for a big race on Sunday. The road was closed from the top of the pass, just out of Elko, to Wildhorse, a distance of 50 miles. It was the "50-50 Gambler's Run" sponsored by the Classic Auto Racing Society, headed by Mrs. Roger Ward of Mission Vallejo, Calif. One driver had a top speed of 237 miles per hour and he drove the 50 miles in 17 minutes."
