Carson Valley Community Center will perform its second cabaret musical at the “Annex,” their facility in the Copeland Arts Building, 1572 Highway 395, Minden. There will be five performances: 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Friday, and Saturday and 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. The theme of this show is the “USO” A Salute to the Troops, in celebration of Armed Services Day.

Nine members comprise the cast: Justin Clouser, master of ceremonies, plus eight singers including: Mike Cannon, Debora McCurry, Kaitlyn McDonald, Kendall McDonald, Devante Pounds, Penny Puente, Cedric Williams, and Lora “Lucky” Yadao. Each will sing several solos and take part in three patriotic ensemble numbers. There are also some group numbers, and even a little bit of comedy. Rodger Banes accompanies the vocalists. The first act features music made popular in the 1940s, such as “Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy,” Sentimental Journey,” “Don’t Sit Under the Apple Tree “Ac-Cent-Tchu-Ate The Positive,” and “Chattanooga Choo Choo.” The second act features music from the 1960s and ’70s including “Heartbreak Hotel,” “That’s Amore,” “Downtown,” and “Fly Me to the Moon.” As was typical for USO shows, guests will be offered free coffee and donuts. (Well, donut holes—less messy.)

Seating is limited for the show, and it is suggested that tickets be purchased in advance to assure a seat. They are $15 each and can be purchased at the box office in the Copeland Arts Building from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., Tuesday through Friday, or online at
