Main Street car show celebrates 23 years

Classics, street rods, hot rods, rat rods and projects under construction can all be found at the Main Street Car Show in downtown Minden 4 p.m. Friday.

The event’s coordinator, Mike Schiller said Main Street is celebrating its twenty third year on Esmeralda Avenue .

The band Mixed Company will play live music from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. and the 20/30 Club will serve beer and sandwiches.

“What better way to spend a Friday night than to pack up the family and make an evening of it in Downtown Minden,” said Schiller. “This event is a lot of fun, and I encourage everyone to come.”

Schiller said there are a lot of photo opportunities and encourages people to come early to get a good parking spot, and take a look at the Main Street Car show.

Roads on Esmeralda Avenue will close at 4 p.m.

Cost to enter a vehicle into the show is $20, proceeds go to Dave Gambles’ City of Refuge, a home for troubled girls.
