Minden Christmas. Town of Minden hosts its annual gazebo lighting event 5 p.m. today on Esmeralda Avenue at Minden Park. Lighting 6 p.m. Information, 782-5976 or

Spaghetti Feed. ELKS Annual Spaghetti Feed and Christmas Tree Bingo today at the CVIC Hall, Esmeralda Street, Minden. Doors open at 4:45 p.m. Cost, $9 for adults, $7 for kids 12 and under. Under two are free. Information, 392-2249.

Genoa Christmas. Town of Genoa hosts a Christmas event 5:30 today. Christmas Caroling, Genoa Community Church, and Genoa Tree Lighting at corner of Nixon St. and Main St., 6:30 p.m. Holiday refreshments served. Information, or 782-8696.

Santa Breakfast. Town of Genoa hosts Breakfast with Santa Saturday Genoa Town Hall, 2287 Main Street. Seatings are 8:30 a.m., 9:40 a.m., 10:50 a.m. Cost, $5 per person, free children 4 years and under. Information, 782-8696 or stop by the office, 2289 Main Street.

Holiday Gala. The DCHS Annual Holiday Gala will be 10 a.m.- 5 p.m. Saturday with the Sweet Shoppe open at 10 a.m where holiday treats and more can be purchased. Vote for your favorite gingerbread house, snow globes and Christmas tree. Information, 782-2555 or email

Arts & Craft Faire. A Holiday Arts & Craft Faire will be 1 p.m.-8 p.m. Saturday in the CVIC Hall. Tumblewinds will also provide food and beverages Friday and Saturday and Olaf, the Frozen character, will be availbale for pictures during weekend events in Minden.

Parade of Lights. The 21st Annual Parade of Lights, presented by the Carson Valley Chamber of Commerce, is 5 p.m. Saturday along Highway 395 from Eddie Street to Minden Park. The theme is”Lucky to Live here.” Information, 782-8144. Highway 395 closes at 4 p.m.

Christmas Reception. The East Fork Gallery is holding its Christmas Reception 11 a.m.- 4 p.m. Sunday. Gift items, pottery, turned wood pices, jewlery and more. Refreshments will be served. The gallery is located at 1502 Highway 395, Gardnerville. Information, 782-7629.

Holiday Celebration. The Douglas County Democratic Women’s annual Holiday Celebration and Bake Sale is set for Dec. 5.Registration begins at 11:30 a.m. with lunch at noon. Cost, $18 with reservations, $20 for Walk-ins.

A Cowboy Christmas. A holiday concert, “A Cowboy Christmas” featuring Mary Kaye and the Kaye Sisters will be 6 p.m. Dec. 10 in the Historic Genoa Town Hall, 2287 Main Street. Cost, $20, children $15.
