CVCT hosts spring auditions

Carson Valley Community Theatre will be holding auditions for their spring production "Forty Carats."
Audition dates are 6:30-9 p.m. Nov. 18; 10 a.m.-noon Nov. 21 (callbacks 1-3 p.m. if needed); or by appointment by calling 408-804-3366.
"Forty Carats" will showcase the weekends of March 25 and April 1, with no show on Easter Sunday
Auditions and rehearsals will be at The Annex, Copeland Building, 1572 Highway 395 in Minden.
Adapted from the original French story by Pierre Barillet and Jean-Pierre Gredy, "Forty Carats" by Jay Allen, tells the story of Ann Stanley, a 40 year-old divorcee whose car breaks down while vacationing in Greece. Ann is rescued and introduced to the romance of the island by a young man in his early twenty's. When she returns to New York, she faces problems with her real estate business, her mother, her 20 year-old daughter, an ex-husband and a middle-aged client. When a young man arrives to escort her daughter he turns out to be the youth from Greece and the romantic plot thickens.

Billy Boylan: mid-40's to early 60's- Ann's ex-husband/washed up actor
Eddy Edwards: early-40's- Wealthy Southern client of Ann's/Trina's love interest
Maud Haynes: mid-60's and up – Ann's eccentric mother/lives with Ann
Trina Stanley: early 20's/late teens – Ann's daughter/lives with Ann
Mrs. Latham: 40's – Peter's mother – small role
Mr. Latham: 40's – Peter's father – small role –
Patrick Graham: any age – Peter's mother's golf pro-athletic- small role
No parts will be pre-cast. Roles will be cast from cold readings from the script. Sides available 30 minutes prior to auditions. Please bring theater experience biography if you have one. CVCT encourages anyone interested to audition, experience is not required.
Rehearsals begin in January, with an initial read-through to be held before Christmas. Rehearsals will be most probably be 6:30 or 7 p.m.-9 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays, depending on cast availability. All cast members must be available for all rehearsals from March 15 on, when rehearsals may extend to three or more nights a week. Tech week rehearsals will be daily, March 20–24, and are mandatory for all cast members.
