Ciana performs Celtic music at Dangberg Home Ranch Thursday
Ciana will bring traditional Irish music to the Dangberg Home Ranch Historic Park 6:30 p.m. Thursday.
With fiddles, mandolin, guitars and singers, Ciana performs tunes and songs from the Irish and Celtic tradition. With a nod to those Irish musicians from whom they learned, Ciana keeps alive the Irish tradition of lively tunes and soulful songs.
Ciana’s roster includes Tina Carlsen on fiddle and vocals, Holly Sternberg on fiddle, Kathy Bly playing the guitar and octave mandolin, and Joe Bly playing flute, tinwhistle, guitar and vocals.
The group met at Irish music sessions around western Nevada, and were soon getting together to play in living rooms and coffeehouses. After playing many local performances, Ciana caught the attention of Revel Records, which quickly signed them and released their debut recording in 2012. More information is at cianamusic.com.
The concert is sponsored by SoaringNV, Douglas County, The Record-Courier, Bently Enterprises, Carson Valley Accounting, Dr. James the Dentist, Internovations Website Design, Joe Benigno’s Tree Service, NV Energy, Carson Valley Chamber of Commerce, Full Circle Soils & Compost, Allied Sanitation, A.B.E.
