Buffalo Bill’s Wild West returns to Dangberg Historic Park 11 a.m. Aug. 26 as the park’s final major event of the 2017 Dangberg Summer Festival.

The show features Buffalo Bill Cody, Wild Bill Hickok, Calamity Jane, Annie Oakley, the Pony Express, The Mayfield Gang and the 1st Nevada Cavalry. The Douglas High School Marching Band and western singer-songwriter Krista Jenkins return for a second year to draw the audience back in time to the frontier of the American West.

Newly added this year is the Comstock Civil War Re-enactors who will bring with them their 12-pound mountain howitzer cannon and the Nevada Civil War Volunteers will demonstrate a Civil War Review. Doc Carver will join the pageantry and demonstrate some trick shooting. Hank Monk, the famous stage driver, will spin some yarns. The Wild Ass Women will add comedy, and the infamous woman card sharp, Lottie Deno, will share some secrets to her success.

This event is part of the park’s Dangberg Summer Festival and is sponsored by Soaring NV, Douglas County, Carson Valley Accounting, Horsetales Magazine and the Frances C. and William P. Smallwood Foundation.

The gate will open at 10 a.m. and the show continues through 3:30 p.m., with an hour-long intermission. An extra canopy will be added this year to provide more shaded seating. This is an outdoor event, and visitors should bring their own seating. Dogs are not permitted at this event.

Tickets are $15 for adults, $10 for members of the nonprofit Friends of Dangberg, and free for 16 years and younger. Tickets go on sale Saturday. General public adult tickets are available at Battle Born Wine and 88 Cups and More Coffee Shop during their regular business hours.

Friends of Dangberg members must contact the park to purchase discounted tickets. For additional purchase options, contact the park at info@dangberghomeranch.org.

Northern Sierra Dutch Oven Group will offer a special lunch, cooked on-site, for $10.

Refreshments including water, soda and snacks will be available for purchase from the Douglas High School Marching Band Booster Committee. Beer and wine will be available from the Friends of Dangberg.

Faith Photography of Nevada will be the official photographer for the event. During intermission, attendees may have their picture taken with select performers, for $10 per photo.
