Douglas County Historical Society hosts “Romancing the West” visual musical concert today at the Carson Valley Museum & Cultural Center. Covers 240 years of American West history. Doors open 6 p.m., performance, 7 p.m. Cost, $15 general admission, $10 DCHS members.

The Carson Valley Inn features free live entertainment in the Cabaret Lounge on Tuesday and Wednesday from 6-10 p.m., Thursday from 7-11 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 8 p.m.-1 a.m. As a courtesy to the Inn’s many sports fans, live entertainment is not held on Sunday and Monday nights during the NFL season so we can show the Sunday Night and Monday Night Football games on the HD pull-down screen. John Dawson Band plays modern country and classic rock 8 p.m.-1 a.m. today-Saturday. Steve Lord plays oldies, country, pop, blues, jazz, soul and rock ‘n’ roll 6-10 p.m. Tuesday-Wednesday.
