Tenth Mr. DHS winner crowned
Competing in front of a sold out crowd of 300 was no big deal for Mr. DHS 2016 Jonah O’Connor.
Jonah took home the crown after a swim suit contest, on-stage question and talent performance of playing the flute. Chris Gold won Mr. Congeniality.
Thirteen DHS seniors took on the 10th-anniversary competition that is the main fundraiser for Safe and Sober Grad Night.
The night also featured raffle prizes that included baskets created by each department within the high school as well as a special Class of 2016 quilt made by Seniors Event Committee.
The quilt went to Jonah’s family and contributed to the nearly $3,000 raised.
This year’s school judges Kelley Yost, Sgt. Brian Johnson, Amanda Laca, Alex Ferone, Karan Seelbinder and Ryan Bugg English Teacher. Christine Ensign was the score keeper.
Activties director Karen Lamb thanks Gourmet Sewing Company for tuxedo donations, Accolades Trophies & Engraving for medals, Town of Minden for facility use, and DHS staff who contributed to the raffle baskets.
