The Carson Valley Community Theatre will hold auditions for the 16th annual Stars of Tomorrow Talent Showcase, a competition for performing arts students in the ninth through twelfth grades.

Auditions are 6:30 p.m. Jan. 17 and 10 a.m. Jan. 18 at CVCT’s The Annex (old Copeland building) in Minden.

The competition is open to vocalists, dancers, instrumentalists and other performing artists. The winner will receive a cash prize of at least $1,000 and additional cash prizes will be awarded for first, second, and third runner-up. In addition, there will be a $250 People’s Choice scholarship, which will be decided by the audience.

The competition is open to all Douglas County students. Contestants must be available for a dress rehearsal on Jan. 31, and for the show on Feb. 1.

The competition will take place in the CVIC Hall in Minden. Doors open at 6 p.m. for the silent auction, and the show starts at 7 p.m.

Tickets will be available at the door on a first come, first served basis. Adult admission is $15 and admission for students and children is $8.
