Elks host annual crab feed
An all-you-can-eat seafood feast will once again be prepared by the Tahoe-Douglas Elks Lodge 2670 for their annual crab feed Jan. 10 at the lodge on Kimmerling Road.
For more than 10 years, the Elks have hosted their annual crab feed to raise funds to support not only the lodge but also a number of community projects.
“Part of our profits go towards helping the community,” Jim Plamenig, manager of the feed said. “ We help the battered women’s shelter in Tahoe, we help the kids in the community with the dictionary program, we have scholarships. We do a bunch of different things in the community.”
Dungeness crab, prawn shrimp, clam chowder, salad and garlic bread will fill the plates of more than 100 people Jan. 10.
“It’s a good fundraiser for us and the community gets together,” Plamenig said. “Some of our representatives from the Carson Elks Lodge and the Carson vicinity will be there. We have a pretty good turn out every year. It’s should turn out pretty good.”
A social starts at 5 p.m. followed by dinner at 6 p.m.
Tickets cost $40 per person and should be purchased by Friday.
To purchase your tickets contact Plamenig at 267-9205 or the Elks Lodge at 265-4523.
