Douglas students qualify for international festival

Thespian Troupe 990 qualified for the International Thespian festival in June. Thespian Troupe 990 from Douglas High School performed at the Nevada State Thespians Festival in Reno.

Those students receiving a superior rating and qualifying for the International Thespian Festival this June in Lincoln, Neb., are Dalton Miller, Kai Stoll and Kateline Teigen for monologues, Cooper Whittemore and Kai Stoll and Leah Heydman and Jordan Sullivan for duet scenes, Chyanne Fischer for stage management and top superior and Jimmy Rich for Short film and top superior.

Chyanne Fischer won five different awards and a $400 scholarship toward festival registration fees along with Jimmy Rich for perfect scores.

Friday night’s band and drama fundraiser will go toward festival fees, which will be about $1200 for registration, room and board and travel.

The students will be hosting other fundraising over the next few months.
