Baxter Black kicks off Cowboy Festival
Staff Reports
Baxter Black, America’s premier cowboy humorist, will appear in the Valley Ballroom at the Carson Valley Inn on May 2 as a kickoff to the 2013 Genoa Cowboy Festival.
Baxter Black is a cowboy poet, humorist, former large animal veterinarian and entertainer of the agricultural masses.
As he puts it, “he has a narrow following, but it’s deep.”
Tickets for the Baxter Black performance are $30 at the Carson Valley Inn Hotel Desk or by phone.
Doors open at 6:15 p.m. and the show starts at 7 p.m.
In keeping with the Cowboy Festival theme, Sourdough Slim will perform a free concert with Robert Armstrong in the Carson Valley Inn Cabaret Lounge following the show.
