Trio win Carson Valley men’s Golf Club Sunday tournament

Jack Sparman, Joe Morrison and John Tavernier combined to shoot a score of 129 to win the Carson Valley Men's Club three-man format cha-cha-cha event on Sunday at the Carson Valley Golf Course.
Two teams tied for second-place in the tournament, as Paul Lockwood, Roger Hala and Matthew Cox in addition to the team of G. Paulson, Charles Poe and John Watson. Both teams finished at 136.
Poe and Watson were also among the closest-to-the-pin winners, Poe on the 13th hole and Watson on No. 17. Marc Prause earned closest-to-the-pin awards on No. 1 and No. 5, while Marc Menezes won on No. 18.
Jim Shabi shot a net 62 to win Flight A at the Empire Ranch Senior Men's Club stroke play tournament in Carson City. Phil King, David Knighton and Tom Zogorski tied for second with 64s.
Mike Vadnais won Flight B with a 62, four shots better than Nick Paul and six shots better than Robey Willis and John Lewis. Adam Huber won Flight C with a 58, seven shots better than Clark Reid and Tom Harlow. Bob Pluth won Flight D with a 64, one shot better than Dino DiCampo and three shots better than Paul Lockwood.
