Carson Valley Days 5K/10K
The Partnership of Community Resources will host its annual fundraiser, the Carson Valley Days Walk, Jog, Run 5K and 10K on Saturday before the Carson Valley Days parade.
Runners, joggers and walkers navigate the parade route an hour before the parade starts.
Check in is at 7:30 a.m., race starts at 8:15 a.m. and awards are conducted at 9:30 a.m. at Lampe Park.

Grass volleyball tournament
The Douglas County Parks & Recreation Department will host the fifth annual grass volleyball tournament Sunday at Lampe Park during Carson Valley Days.
Teams are guaranteed three games in pool play and entry into an elimination playoff.
Sign-in is at 8 a.m. and games start at 9 a.m., wrapping up at 5 p.m.
Adult 4×4 divisions include open, coed and women and youth 6×6 divisions include 5/6 grade, 7/8 grade and high school. All youth divisions are coed.
Cost is $15 per person for adults and $5 per person for youth teams. It bumps to $20 for adults the day of the event. For more information, contact Sheryl Christian at 775-782-9828 or email@example.com.
AYSO soccer sign-ups
Carson Valley AYSO will conduct sign-ups for the 2013 fall season June 15 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Lampe Park pavilion in Gardnerville.
Visit eayso.org to pre-register for the express line. Players must bring an original birth certificate and two copies of the online registration form. Player registration fees are $55 for U5, $65 for U6 and $75 for U8 and up.

College ID soccer camp
The Lake Tahoe Boys and Girls College ID Soccer Camp is scheduled for June 20 and 21 in South Lake Tahoe, Calif.
The camp is open to players between eighth and 12th grade.
College coaches from University of Nevada, Cal Poly, Lamar University, CSU East Bay, St. Mary's College, Sonoma State University, Dominican University, Menlo College will be on hand.
Camp cost is $190 and includes a camp T-shirt, an e-mail skills evaluation, and lunch on the first day. Video evaluations are available for an extra fee.
The camp runs from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on June 20 and 9 a.m. to noon on June 21.

Douglas football alumni golf tournament
The second annual Douglas High School Football Alumni Golf Tournament will be June 22 at the Carson Valley Golf Course.
All alumni players, coaches and family are welcome to participate.
A shotgun start is set for 9 a.m. Cost is $125 or $400 per foursome.
Hole sponsorships are available as well for $100 per hole.
Dinner at the Carson Valley Country Club is provided as part of the tournament and includes pulled pork, chicken, beans, salad and soft drinks. All participants receive a golf towel.

Silver Strike Lanes is participating in the Free Bowling Summer Fun program for the third consecutive summer, which runs through Aug. 31, parents can register their children ages 15 and younger for up to two free games of bowling every day.

MEFIYI will offer private tennis lessons for all ages throughout the summer.
Lessons will be at the Genoa Lakes Golf Club tennis courts and the Douglas High School tennis courts.

Youth/Teen & Adult Tennis Clinics
The Douglas County Parks & Recreation Department will offer beginning to advanced-level tennis clinics throughout the summer.
Basics covered include serving, footwork, volley and ground strokes as well as team play.
Participants need to bring their own racquet and athletic clothing.
Youth tennis clinics for age 7-12 will be Monday through Thursday from 8:30 to 9:50 a.m. or 10-11:20 a.m. at the Lampe Park Tennis Courts. Cost is $55 per week.
Teen & adult tennis clinics for ages 13 and up will be held Monday through Thursday from 6-7:30 p.m. Cost is $55 per week.

Youth flag football league
The Douglas County Parks & Recreation Department is accepting registration for the NFL Youth Flag Football League until team rosters are full.
The league helps teach boys and girls the fundamentals of football, good sportsmanship and teamwork in a non-contact fashion.
Since every player is eligible to receive or carry the ball, any player on a team could score on any play.
Players receive a reversible NFL Flag jersey, mouthpiece and individual award.
All games will be played on Saturdays at Stodick Park.
Participants will be divided into four age groups: 5-6 coed, 7-8 coed, 9-11 coed and 12-14 coed.
Players must be at least 6 and not 15 by September 1.
Volunteer coaches are also needed for the league. Referees, ages 16 and older, are being sought as well.
