Douglas girls tennis meeting Monday
July 5, 2014
Newly appointed Douglas High School girls tennis coach Dan Hannah will hold a non-mandatory team meeting for Monday at 3:30 p.m. at the high school courts.
The meeting and training session is expected to cover about two hours, according to Hannah, who was named to the post on Tuesday. Susan Cowan had served as the team's coach for three seasons.
In 2013, the Douglas girls captured the Sierra League championship and advanced to the Northern Division I Region Tournament championship before losing to Reno High. Madelyn Landerfelt also finished as the region singles tournament runner-up as a freshman last fall.
Douglas County School District Superintendent Lisa Noonan said on Friday that efforts are still ongoing to fill the opening for coach of the boys team.
