Douglas girls, boys split against Galena

Forty-six was the common number the Douglas High School’s girls and boys basketball teams shared Friday night.

For the unbeaten Tigers girls, it was enough to secure a 46-19 Sierra League win against Galena. It wasn’t so fortunate for the boys, however, as Noah Peck’s 3-pointer proved to be the difference for Galena in its 47-46 victory at Randy Green Court.

Peck knocked down his shot from the right corner with 12.3 seconds left to play, erasing a two-point Douglas lead. A.J. Pfaffenberger pulled up and hit a jumper broke a 43-all tie with 1:44 to go and then converted …
