A fourth-quarter surge lifted the Sierra Lutheran High School boys basketball team to a 49-39 victory Thursday night at home against Redding Christian (Palo Cedro, Calif.).
The Falcons rallied from a one-point deficit with a 22-11 run through the fourth quarter en route to their non-league win against the defending CIF Northern Section Division VI champion Lions.
Redding Christian (9-3) entered the game with a five-game win streak.
Nick Walker scored 16 points and Michael Patrick 13 to lead the Falcons offensively. Jerod Hamilton also contributed 7 points.
Max Straw scored 10 points and Gabe Coleman 9 to lead Redding Christian. Coleman, a sophomore forward, brought a 22.7 point per game average into the game.
Sierra Lutheran (4-2 overall, 1-1 league) lost Friday night 68-46 against Mineral County in Hawthorne.
