Tigers split Wild West Shootout games

The Douglas High School boys basketball team came out of the Wild West Shootout last weekend with a split of two games at Bishop Manogue High School in Reno. Austin Evans scored 19 points on Friday to lead a balanced attack as Douglas (2-1 overall) won its tournament opener against Incline, 73-56. The Tigers encountered a more difficult challenge on Saturday, however, as they dropped a 49-32 decision against Servite (Anaheim, Calif.). The Tigers surged to a 28-19 first quarter lead and never looked back against the Division III Highlanders. Seven Tigers scored 6 points or more in the game. …
