Woman suspected of stealing $300

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s help in identifying a woman suspected in the theft of cash from an ATM machine inside the Walmart on Topsy Lane.

Sgt. Pat Brooks said the woman appears to be in her late 50’s, Native American, wearing a San Francisco 49ers jacket.

The victim stated on Nov 1, at 6:30 a.m., he entered the Walmart and used the ATM machine to withdraw $300 cash from his account. The machine had a service message on the screen, so the victim left to find a cashier. The cashier told the victim that the machine has been malfunctioning for two days and that he would have to go to another Walmart.

The victim attempted to use his ATM card and discovered that $300 was missing from his account. Video from the ATM machine shows the suspect removed the money and did not turn the money in to security.

Anyone with information regarding this case is urged to call DCSO investigators at 775-782-9905.
