Douglas High School swept the girls and boys team titles on Tuesday afternoon at the Spanish Springs Invitational in Sparks.
In a meet that serves as the Northern Region junior varsity championship, the Douglas girls outran Carson by a 42-66 margin to win the girls team title and the boys packed five runners into the top 10 as they cruised to victory by a 23-46 margin over Spring Creek.
Sophomore Weston Stulac won the boys race with a 19:42 effort over the challenging 5-kilometer Spanish Springs layout. Stulac also won at the Reed Invitational and Douglas Class Races earlier this season.
Freshman Lars Ponsness placed second in 19:59 and senior Mac McCready ran 20:06 to place fourth and freshman Danner Hillman 20:15 to place sixth. Braden Hudnall ran 20:42 to place 10th.
JD Votel also ran 21:23 to finish 18th, Conner Lyman 21:26 to finish 20th and Bryan Harris 21:54 to finish 31st for the Tigers. Wes Alexander ran 22:13, Cody Taylor 22:14, Levi Costa 24:36, Riis Peterson 24:42, Deven Cain 24:53, Keith Becker 26:05, Tim Hanifan 31:13 and Zack Laningham 32:54.
In the girls race, Douglas was led by a 3-4-5 finish. Junior KD Dehnert ran 24:57 to place third, just ahead of Miren Altolaguirre in 25:03 for fourth-place and Emilie Prudhomme in 25:15 for fifth-place.
Lindsey Hudnall ran 26:12 to place 17th and Taylor Fruth 26:16 to place 18th. Mizuki Olivarez also ran 33:50 for the Tigers.
The Division I Northern Region Championships will be held Nov. 2 at Rancho San Rafael Park in Reno.
