Swimming: Win streak keeps climbing for Douglas

While the Douglas High swim team pushed its remarkable dual meet win streaks another step forward Saturday against Galena, the girls’ team continued its four-year long assault on the school record books. Freshman Shelby Koontz broke the 15-year-old school record in the 200 IM Saturday, finishing in 2:07.90, more than two full seconds better then the previous best (2:10.26 in 1998 by Brittany Reichardt). The mark was significant in that the Lady Tigers have now broken school records in every event except for the 100 breaststroke and championship diving during the past four seasons.
