Sophomore Colin Brooks shot 78 to lead the Douglas High School boys golf team to third-place Wednesday in its regular season-ending Sierra League tournament at Genoa Lakes.
Douglas finished with a 436 team score on its home course, behind only Bishop Manogue (394) and Galena (412), while Carson finished fourth (444). Manogue finished its league season unbeaten.
Brooks finished with the sixth best individual score on the day. Shane Pyle carded an 81, freshman Jerod Endter 88, Zander Ghan 93 and Jaden Wass 96 to complete the Tigers’ team scoring. Jake Wartgow shot a non-scoring 103.
The home match marked the final home appearance for seniors Pyle, Ghan, Wass and Wartgow.
Carson’s Dalton Butler, Galena’s Narayan Gill and Manogue’s Karl Beidle shot 74 to finish on top of the individual leader board.
Next up, the Northern Division I Region Tournament will be held Tuesday and Wednesday at Thunder Canyon Country Club in Washoe Valley. The first tee time will be 12:30 p.m. both days.
