Chase Johnson logged personal record throws in the discus and shot put for Sierra Lutheran High’s track and field team Saturday at the Carson Invitational.
The senior placed fourth in the shot put (48-10) and sixth in the discus (143-0) at Carson High’s Jim Frank Track and Field Complex. His mark in the discus was an improvement of 12 feet from his previous best.
Junior Camille Cassidy placed fourth in the girls 400 (1:02.70), ninth in the 800 (2:44.40) and 12th in the 200 (28.40). All three times were personal bests.
Sierra Lutheran placed eighth in the 4x200 relay (1:59.20) with the team of Grace Bonafede, Rebekah Churchill, Kimberly Eckert and Torreyana Sanguinetti.
Cali Benton finished ninth in the discus (99-7, personal best). Sabrina Ronato finished 15th in the long jump (14-1).
Sierra Lutheran placed eighth in the boys 4x800 relay (9:23.0) with the team of Chris Eckert, Harrison, Ricky McNeely and Seth Cariga.
Senior Michael Patrick finished ninth in the triple jump (38-4) and Jake Forvilly 16th (35-9-3/4).
