Pit bull in hotel room leads to arrest

Bail is $125,000 for a Stateline man accused of committing a felony while awaiting trial on a number of drug charges.

District Judge Michael Gibbons raised bail for Adrian Leokel Lockamy, 36, by $25,000 after he was taken into custody following an incident at Montbleu Resort Casino & Spa.

Lockamy is awaiting trial June 17 on multiple charges including trafficking in a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance for sale, possession of a controlled substance and false imprisonment.

He pleaded not guilty to the charges in March, and was placed under the supervision of the Department of Alternative Sentencing with several conditions.

They included not entering a casino or bar except for employment, violate no laws, and not alcohol or controlled substances.

Deputies were dispatched to the Montbleu at 9:30 p.m. March 21 for a report of an aggressive pit bull that had destroyed the bedding and carpet in a hotel room, causing $1,200 damage.

Officers traced the dog to Lockamy who said he left the dog in the room with his girlfriend, and went to help a friend with carpentry work and woodcutting.

When he returned, Lockamy said the woman had been arrested and the dog had destroyed their hotel room.

Lockamy was taken into custody for violating his release.

Lockamy’s girlfriend was arrested for theft and possession of stolen property. Officers found a plastic bag containing white powder, empty syringe, glass pipe, and a marijuana cigarette in the hotel room.

Lockamy reportedly tested positive for methamphetamine. He denied the items were his, and said several people had been using the hotel room.

The original arrest stems from a Dec. 9 incident at a Stateline apartment.

According to reports, deputies arrested Lockamy following investigation of a 911-hangup.

The caller reportedly told dispatch her boyfriend choked her before the call was disconnected.

Deputies kicked in the door of the unit and Lockamy was placed in handcuffs.

Deputies reportedly found marijuana, methamphetamine, paraphernalia, and prescription pills.
