Nicole Rowe, Kylie Swan and Mackenzie Rose combined to deliver nine hits with four doubles and five RBI Saturday for the Douglas High junior varsity softball team in its 16-2 win at Wooster.
Rowe hit 4-for-4 with two doubles and three RBI, while Rose went 2-for-4 with two doubles and Swan 3-for-4 with two RBI as Douglas improved its overall record to 9-3 (4-2 league).
Madi Peters pitched four innings of two-hit ball and allowed two runs. She struck out nine of the 17 batters she faced and walked two. Teena Marie Simpson closed out the game when she faced four batters in the fifth inning with one strikeout and one hit.
On Thursday, Peters pitched a complete game three-hitter with eight strikeouts and five walks.
Swan contributed three hits, with a double with two RBI, Jordyn Pinochi three hits, Simpson had two hits and one RBI, and Rowe two hits with a double and 3 RBI.
Douglas is hosting the Nicole Snyder Memorial Tournament Friday and Saturday at Stodick Park. The Tigers open Friday with a 3:45 p.m. game against Reed and then play Wooster at 5:30 p.m.
