Douglas High grad Jeff Nady took the next big step in his football career Saturday night, signing a free agent deal with the Jacksonville Jaguars.

The 6-foot, 6-inch, 303-pound offensive tackle posted to his Twitter account Saturday night that he had agreed to a free-agent deal with Jacksonville after going undrafted during the NFL draft.

Nady, who was a football and basketball standout at Douglas High from 2005 to 2008, started for three seasons for the Nevada Wolf Pack, earning All-Western Athletic Conference and All-Mountain West Conference honors along the way.

At Douglas, he had been an all-region defensive lineman and an all-state punter.

Nady is the first Douglas grad to sign an NFL contract since wide receiver Gabe Hatchett signed with the Miami Dolphins out of Southern Oregon University in 2007.
