Golf: Tiger golfers fifth at regionals

The Douglas High girls golf team placed fifth at the Northern Nevada Division I Regional Championships Tuesday at Sierra Sage Golf Course in Stead.

The Tigers shots a two-day 754, coming in behind regional champ McQueen (659), Spanish Springs (661), Manogue (720) and Galena (743).

Spanish Springs’ Katrina Prendergast won the individual title with a two-day 147.

Douglas sophomore Koko Terada took ninth with an 82-85-167. Molly Jordan was 11th at 88-85-173. Both golfers qualified for next week’s state championships at Wildcreek Golf Course in Sparks.

Emily Gosselin shot a 205 to finish 32nd, Carly Talia finished 45th and Rachel Murphey took 48th.
