Carson Valley Table Tennis hosts tournament

Special to The R-C

The Carson Valley Table Tennis Club hosted a table tennis tournament at Pulse Fitness Center in Minden on Sept. 22.

Three clubs participated in the tournament – the Carson Valley club, the Reno club and the Carson City club.

The grand prize to the winning club was the Bragging Rights Trophy. This 52-inch monstrosity is awarded to the club with the highest point total at the end of the competition.

The winning club retains the trophy until the next tournament determines the next winner.

For the third straight tournament the Carson Valley Table Tennis Club in Minden captured the gold and retained the Bragging Rights Trophy.

What makes this victory truly remarkable is that the Reno club has the higher rated players and three times as many members as the other two clubs combined. Perhaps this will be the fire necessary to have the Reno club bring out their big guns to the next tournament.
