Tigers clinch playoffs

Douglas High School clinched a berth in the Division I Northern Region football playoffs Thursday night, courtesy of Carson’s 45-28 Sierra League victory against Bishop Manogue in Reno. Carson (3-0 league, 6-2) scored 21 unanswered points in the third quarter to clinch first-place and the league’s No. 1 seed going into the playoffs. At the same time, Manogue (1-3, 3-4) was eliminated from playoff contention. Douglas (1-2, 2-6) is guaranteed the No. 4 seed coming into its regular season finale at home against Carson this coming Friday.
