Tigers advance in regional play

Douglas High’s two No. 1 seeds advanced on Wednesday during first-round play in the Northern Division I Region Tennis Tournament in Carson City. Freshman singles standout Madelyn Landerfelt and the doubles team of Bryana McNamara and Ingrid Carlson, No. 1 seeds from the Sierra League, won their matches and earned the right to play again today when tournament action resumes at Caughlin Athletic Club in Reno. The tournament continues on Saturday, with the top finishers qualifying for the NIAA State Championships next week in Las Vegas. Landerfelt beat her Hug opponent 6-0, 6-0. She will face Carson’s Shaina Segura today. …
