Coleville volleyball sweeps Warriors

The Coleville High volleyball team swept a Western Division IV double header at home on Saturday against Excel Christian.

Coleville (8-1 league, 13-8 overall) won both matches in straight sets, defeating the Warriors by game scores of 25-7, 25-10 and 25-22, 25-9.

The Wolves were led by Naomi Graves, who had 5 kills, 8 aces and 18 assists in the four games. O’Laire Herrera and Nicole Smith combined for 36 kills and freshman Reina Childs added 3 kills.

Coleville hosts league-leading Virginia City this coming Saturday.

In other Western Division IV action last week, Smith Valley defeated Sierra Lutheran on Tuesday 25-22, 25-20, 25-17. The Bulldogs also defeated Mineral County on Friday 25-8,25-22,25-5. The Bulldogs celebrate homecoming this coming Saturday at 11 a.m. against Excel Christian.

Note: Among the Smith Valley homecoming activities will be a “Breast Cancer Awareness” Pledge a Player contest and competition, volleyball serve-a-thon and football agility test.
