Douglas girls blank Reed in opener

McKenna Kynett scored three goals and the defense pitched a shutout Saturday morning as the Douglas High girls soccer team rang up a 5-0 season-opening victory against Reed in Sparks. Kynett scored in the 10th minute and Kassidy Freitas blasted in a long shot taken from a free kick in the 21st minute as Douglas took command early in Jenny Jaggard’s debut as head coach.
