Tigers begin conditioning Monday

A busy fall sports season opens at Douglas High School Monday when athletes begin conditioning workouts in volleyball, boys soccer and football. Volleyball begins Monday with two-a-day conditioning — 8-9:30 a.m. at the Big George Athletic Complex and 5-7:30 p.m. in the school gym. Two days of team tryouts will be held on 8:30-11:30 a.m. and 5-7:30 p.m. Saturday, then 3-6 p.m. Aug. 19 in the gym. The Tigers open their season Sept. 3 against Yerington. Suzi Townsell is entering her seventh season as head coach of the Douglas program. Of interest, she coached the Tigers’ 2010 state championship team …
