The Douglas boys golf team struggled through its toughest outing of the season Wednesday, taking fifth at the Sierra League tournament at Eagle Valley with a season low score of 451.
“I was a little disappointed with the team score, but that is the way golf goes,” Douglas coach Brent Eddy said. “Sometimes everything goes well on the course, other times nothing goes well.
Cody Tindel led the Tigers, shooting an 86, Colin Brooks came in with an 87 and Shane Pyle shot an 89.
“We saw continued consistency from Colin Brooks and the emergence of Cody Tindel was a bright spot,” Eddy said.
Gary Schlee shot a 91, Mike Doyle shot a 98 and Matt Johnson came in with a 100.
Manogue won the overall tournament, followed by Galena, Damonte Ranch and Carson in order.
Despite the tough showing, Douglas still locked up the No. 3 spot for the regional tournament.
The regular season closes out next week at Wolf Run before heading to Red Hawk for the regional championships the week after.
