The sixth annual Big George Invitational track meet is set for Saturday morning at Douglas High School.
Over the years, the invitational has become one of the last previews of the top Northern Nevada athletes before the championship circuit begins May 4.
At least 14 schools are expected for the meet.
All three Douglas County schools — Douglas, Sierra Lutheran and Whittell — are scheduled to compete.
Other power programs slated to attend include McQueen, Damonte Ranch, Hug and Carson.
Events get under way at 9:45 with the trials for the 110 meter hurdles.
The only finals conducted before the midday break will be the 1,600 (10 a.m.), the 4x800 (11:15 a.m.) and the 3,200 (12:15 p.m.).
The field events start at 10 a.m. and the running finals begin at 1:30 p.m.
Admission is $5 for adults, $3 for students with ID cards and family discounts are available. NIAA passes will be the only pass accepted.
