A Yerington man was severely injured in a single vehicle rollover Tuesday night on State Route 208.
David L. Enox, 44, was about five miles south of Yerington in a 1977 Chevrolet K-10 pickup when he drifted off the right roadway edge. When he tried to get back onto the highway, he overcorrected and went off the other side of the road, through a fence and overturned several times.
Trooper Chuck Allen said during the accident, Enox was ejected and was found 40 feet from where the vehicle stopped.
“He sustained very significant injuries and was flown from Yerington to Renown Regional Medical Center in Reno by Care Flight,” Allen said.
Allen said Enox’s condition was not available this morning.
Trooper Chris Kelly of the Major Accident Investigation Team is investigating this crash. Allen said witnesses to the event or anyone with additional information are encouraged to contact Kelly at (775) 689-4661 or firstname.lastname@example.org regarding case number NHP-130401574.
“Motorists should always wear a seat belt every trip, every time, day or night when riding in a motor vehicle,” Allen said. “Nearly 35 percent of the motorists killed in fatality crashes investigated by the Nevada Highway Patrol statewide last year were not wearing seat belts.”
