The Douglas High track team competed at the Huksy Invitational at Sheldon High School in Sacramento on Saturday, returning with a number of strong results out of the 31-team field.
Lindsey Adams won the 1,600 with a time of 5:23.22, prevailing over a field of 41 runners. She also finished second in the 800 with a time of 2:25.34.
Molly O’Farrell won the pole vault, clearing 8 feet, 6 inches.
Marshall McKown finished second in the shot put with a throw of 47-10.5 and second in the discus with a throw of 140-4.5.
Adams, Aspen Abbott, Olivia Abbott and Lizzy Byrne took second in the girls 4x400 relay with a time of 4:09.48.
Olivia Abbott took third in the girls triple jump (34-11.5) and fourth in the 400 (1:00.74), Michael Nolting was third in the boys high jump (5-10) and Cole Melhus and Brandon Harmon tied for fourth in the high jump at 5-8. Nolting also finished seventh in the long jump with a leap of 20-5.25.
Nolting, Nick Abreu, Bailey Vidaurri and Melhus took eighth in the 4x100 relay with a time of 44.91.
Lauren Babbitt was third in the high jump, clearing 5 feet, and Corryne Millett was fourth at 4-10. Douglas showed well overall in the event as Carrina Bell and Shawnee McFadden tied for eighth.
Morgan Weston placed fifth in the girls’ shot put with a throw of 32-3.5 and 11th in the discus with a throw of 85-7.
Darby Mattinson was sixth in the long jump with a jump of 15-7 and Gabby Munoz finished sixth in the 3,200 with a time of 12:56.38.
Freshman Macie Harjes took seventh in the discus with a throw of 91-04.
Freshman Maddy Lowe finished 10th in the 300 hurdles (51.19).
Tay Simms was 11th in the boys shot put at 40-1. Simms finished sixth in the pole vault (12-0) while Ben Cochran, Ian Isherwood and Nick Abreu all tied for 11th, clearing 10-0.
Maria Munoz was 12th in the 1,600, followed by Madison Cote in 13th. Brandon Pankey finished 12th in the boys 1,600 with a time of 4:52.51 and 12th in the 3,200 with a time of 10:49.95.
