Baseball: Douglas thumps Hug 16-3.

The Douglas baseball team kept the hits coming Saturday, ending a game early due to the mercy rule for the fourth time this season with a 16-3 win over Hug in Reno.

Dalton Grisell scattered three hits over five innings of work for Douglas, picking up the win with nine strikeouts and two walks.

The Tigers pounded out 12 hits as they easily cruised to the win.

Dusty Fisher homered, Luke Romero hit a triple and Dillon Lopez doubled to highight the offensive attack and Joe Almeida, Fisher, Lopez and Nolan Weintz all recorded multiple hits in the game.

Cody Carter, Fisher and Cale Kynett each drove in three runs and Foster, Jimmy King and Weintz each drove in a run.

Douglas improved to 7-1 on the year and 3-0 in Northern Division I play with the win.

Dougas hosts Hug Tuesday at 3:45 p.m. and Wooster Thursday at 3:45 p.m.
