Bethany Wurster (Douglas ’11 ), soph., Nevada: Next tournament is Monday.


Grant Denny (Douglas ’11), fr., Feather River: Feather River leads the overall men’s rodeo season standings in the West Coast Region. Denny leads the region in bareback riding with 781 points.


Chris Balcom-Miller (Douglas ’05), Portland Sea Dogs (Red Sox Double-A), RHP: Participating in Spring Training in Fort Myers, Fla.

Tyler Hoelzen (Douglas ’09), sr., LHP, Sacramento State: Hoelzen made a relief appearance in a 9-6 win over Cal State Northridge last week. The Hornets are 10-6 on the season. Hoelzen has a 1.59 ERA with a 1-0 record. He has 11 strikeouts in 11 innings pitched and has walked four batters.

Cody Begovich (Douglas ’12), fr., LHP/OF, Northeastern State (Oklahoma): Begovich has played in two games this season for the Riverhawks, who are 3-2 on the year.

Troy Torres (Douglas ’09), jr., 3B: Tabor is 8-5 on the season. Torres has started six games for Tabor and played in another four.

Kyle Ford (Douglas ’10), jr., C, Avila University (Mo.): Avila is 7-3 on the year.

Ryan Ford (Douglas ’10), fr., 3B/P, Avila University (Mo.): Ford leads the team in batting with 13 hits on the year and a .419 average.

Kameron Van Winkle (Douglas ’11), soph., C, Feather River: The Golden Eagles are ranked No. 6 in California with a 10-7 record. Van Winkle has two RBIs and a stolen base on the year.

Shane Fencl Douglas ’11), soph., SS, Feather River: Grey-shirting.

Matt Thomas (Douglas ’11), soph., RHP, Feather River: Thomas is 4-1 on the year with a 1.57 ERA and 30 strikeouts in 28 innings pitched.

Walker Gemmill (Douglas ’11), soph., C, Lassen: Gemmill has driven in seven runs on the year with a .227 average.

Cody Lommori (Douglas ’11), soph., 1B, American River: Lommori is batting .250 with a pair of doubles and a pair of RBIs.


Stephanie Harper (Douglas ’09), sr., P/1B, Concord: Harper is batting .382 with three doubles, two RBIs and a stolen base. She has also pitched in three games, striking out three.

Jenna Geyer (Douglas ’12), fr., 1B, Feather River: Geyer has driven in four runs and hit two doubles on the year.

Amanda Caras (Douglas ’12), fr.,IF: Caras leads the team in hitting with a .312 average. She has won double and one RBI and has played in 16 games.

Wade Meddles (Sierra Lutheran ’10), jr., Eastern Kentucky: Outdoor season opens Saturday at the University of Cincinnati.

Nick Maestretti (Douglas ’12), fr., Kansas: Outdoor season opens March 27 at the Texas Relays in Austin, Texas.

Becky Grabow (Sierra Lutheran ’12), fr., Pacific: Grabow set a school record in the 3,000 at the Aggie Open to open the season, turning in a time of 10 minutes, 52 seconds.

Davey Fisher (Douglas ’09), sr., Pacific Lutheran: Fisher won the 400 hurdles at the PLU Invitational, running a personal best time of 55.33. He also ran the anchor leg on the second-place 4x400 relay team, turning in a 49.8-second split.

Garrett Tenney (Douglas ’10), jr., Jamestown College: Outdoor season opens April 6 at the Valley City State Invitational in North Dakota.

Craig Stratton (Douglas ’10), soph., San Diego Mesa College: Finished third in the pole vault at the San Diego Collegiate Challenge at UC San Diego.

Cara Dunkelman (Douglas ’12), fr., Colorado State: Outdoor season opens today at the Jerry Quiller Classic in Boulder, Colo.

Andrew Cobourn (Douglas ’12), fr., Chico State: Red-shirting. Posted a time of 9:16.26 in the 3,000-meter as an unattached runner at the Aggie Open last week.

Sadie Gastelum (Douglas ’12), fr., Chico State: Red-shirting.

Nathanael Williams (Sierra Lutheran ’12), fr., Colorado School of Mines: Outdoor season opens Saturday at the Jerry Quiller Classic at Boulder, Colo.
