Fisher to play for Broncos

Former Douglas High School football standout Dusty Fisher will be in uniform for Boise State University Thursday night when the Broncos open their season against No. 18 Ole Miss.

The game kicks off at 5 p.m. (PDT) in the Georgia Dome.

Fisher, a 2013 Douglas graduate, is listed as a freshman wide receiver and expected to play on the kickoff and punt coverage teams. Fisher (6-foot-2, 179 pounds) joined the Boise State team for spring practice as a “preferred walk-on.” He wears No. 24.

Fisher received all-region and all-state honors for Douglas at wide receiver as a senior during the 2012 season. He had 65 catches for 1,167 yards and caught 15 TD passes. He was also a second-team all-league return specialist.

Bryan Harsin is entering his first season as head coach for the Broncos, who are coming off an 8-5 season in 2013. Boise State visits Nevada for a 7:30 p.m. game on Oct. 4.
