Marc Prause continued his hot hand in Carson Valley Men’s Golf tournament play Sunday when he won an individual stroke play event at the Carson Valley Golf Course.
Prause won Flight A for the third straight week as he shot a net 67. He outdistanced Charles Serafine by two strokes and Jack Sparman by three to win the flight.
Prause and Marc Menezes have combined to win the A flight five times in the last seven weeks.
G. Paulsen won Flight B with a 68, while Dave Morris shot 69 for second-place, Brick Ludington 70 for third-place and Augie Martinez 71 to take fourth.
Jack Zippwald carded a 67 to win Flight C, followed by Joe Morrison at 69, Jim Arens at 71 and Frank Tisiot at 74.
Frank Temple won Flight D with a 68, followed by John Guidicatti at 70. Bill Centers shot 71 to take third-place on a tie-breaker over Larry Lockwood.
Sparman was the closest-to-the-pin winner on the first and 13th holes. Morris won on the fifth and 18th holes, while Prause won on No. 17.
Hammon wins at Empire
Bill Hammon shot a net 62 to win the Empire Ranch Senior Men’s Club A flight last Wednesday at Empire Ranch Golf Course in Carson City. He beat Bruce Serpa by two shots, while George Flamer, Jim Shabi and Gene Gaston tied for third-place at 65.
Fred Perdomo won Flight B with a 64, followed by Bob Pitcock with a 66 and Steve Scharfe with a 68. Robey Willis and Ken Cuneo tied for fourth at 69.
Duane Clark won Flight C with a 60, while Phil Polaske shot 63, Moe Dias 64, Rich Bremenour 69 and Rudy Hammond 71 to round out the top five.
Robert Blom won Flight D with a 62. Greg Bently and Peter Youngdahl both shot 65 to tie for second-place. Nils Sharpe shot 67 to take fourth-place and Tim Morsini shot 68 to finish fifth.
Jim Laporte won the closest-to-the-pin prize on the Blue Course fifth hole, Art Skipworth on Blue No. 8, Blom on White No. 4 and John Tierney on White No. 8.
