Charlie Serafine was the A Flight winner Sunday during the Carson Valley Senior Men’s Golf Club individual stroke play tournament.
Serafine carded a net score of 67 to edge Jack Sparman for first-place at the Carson Valley Golf Course. Augie Martinez and Bill Allen tied for third-place at 71.
Charles Poe and Joe Morrison tied for first-place in Flight B at 65. John Pearson shot 72 for second-place and Jack Zippwald shot 73 for third-place.
Matt Cox emerged as the closest-to-the-pin leader by winning on the fifth, 17th and 18th holes. Morrison won on the first hole and Serafine on No. 13.
Dahl Rask was the Flight A winner last Wednesday during the Empire Ranch Senior Men’s Golf Club individual stroke play tournament held at Empire Ranch Golf Course in Carson City.
Rask carded a net score of 63 to take first-place, one stroke ahead of Jim Shabi in second-place. Fred Olesek took third-place on a tie-breaker over Geoff Swann after both players finished at 67. Bill Mulligan was fifth at 69. The tie breaker was based on the lowest score on the most difficult holes
Bob Pitcock shot 61 to win Flight B. Dennis Justin prevailed in a four-way tie-breaker for second-place ahead of Nick Paul, Carl Slate and John Masiello, all at 67.
Another tie-breaker was needed to decide first-place in Flight C, where Wes Franklin bested Jack Medeiros for first-place. Both players carded scores of 64. Ivan Lepier shot 66 for third-place, Gary Mick shot 68 to place fourth and Tom Morsani 69 to place fifth.
Bob Hendry shot 66 to take first-place in Flight D and Mart Martinez shot 68 for second-place. Bob Pluth placed third with a score of 69, and one shot behind at 70, Vic Roscha edged Dan Rodgers to take fourth-place on a tie-breaker.
Clark Reid won the closest-to-the-pin prize on Red hole No. 3 and Ray Huntley on Red No. 8. On the White Course, Duanne Carroll won on No. 4 and Jim Shabi on No. 8.
