The Douglas Dolfins will host their annual High Country Invitational Short Course Championships on Aug. 8-10.
This is the last meet of the summer season for the Dolfins, and the team will take its annual fun week at the meet’s conclusion.
The meet is three days long and is a trial and finals meet, beginning at 8:30 each morning. Going along with tradition, the top seed in each event chooses a song for the top eight swimmers to walk out to. The meet brings many out-of-town teams into Douglas County and always generates business.
This week, the Dolfins take their qualifying pre-seniors and seniors to the Western Zone Senior Championships in Clovis, Calif. This is a meet that the swimmers must qualify for, and swimmers must be above 14-years-old. The meet starts today at the Clovis North and Clovis West high school aquatics complexes and ends Sunday.
