Anthony C. Cupaiuolo lived up to his bib number Saturday during the Carson Valley Days Partnership of Community Resources 5- and 10-K Walk, Jog & Run.
Cupaiuolo, who drew No. 1 as the first entry into the race, emerged as the overall winner in the 5-kilometer run that started at the intersection of Highway 395 and Waterloo Lane and finished at Lampe Park.
In all, 97 runners and walkers reached the finish line in an event that served as a fundraiser for the Partnership of Community Resources.
Cupaiuolo finished in a time of 20:05.7 to lead the field of 78 5K entrants and win the men’s 19-39 age group. Jocelyn Fischer finished fifth overall and as the first woman in a time of 24:49. Katie Dry was close behind as the sixth overall finisher and second woman to finish in 25:16. Fischer was entered in the 40-59 age group and Dry in the 13-18 age group.
ony A. Cupaiuolo joined his son, Anthony, as a top-10 finisher. Tony, who ran with the No. 2 bib, finished seventh overall and first-place in the men’s 60-and-over age group in 27:12.
Tim Dry was the overall winner and first in the men’s 40-59 age group in the 10K with a time of 41:16.8, followed by E.J. Maldonado with a time of 42:34. Denise Williams ran 47:11 amnd Kristin Steinkraus 48:58 to lead the women.
