JV softball club romps to win

Madi Peters hit 4-for-4 with six RBI Thursday afternoon to help lead the Douglas High JV softball team to a 26-1 victory against Galena in Reno.

Genevieve Stodieck-Dreyer also hit 3-for-3 with a single, double, triple, two walks and six RBI. Peters had a triple and three singles in a game called after five innings due to the 10-run mercy rule.

Teena-Marie Simpson pitched the distance for Douglas She faced 18 batters, allowed two hits to go with nine strikeouts and no walks.

The JV Tigers improved their season record to 16-4 overall, 10-2 in league.
