Douglas JV softball club wins

Jordyn Pinochi hit 4-for-5 with a double and two RBI to help lead the Douglas High junior varsity softball team to a 13-4 win Tuesday against Bishop Manogue in a league contest played at Lampe Park.

Kylie Swan also hit 2-for-5 with an RBI and Mackenzie Rose went 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI.

Madi Peters pitched a complete game eight-hitter to earn the win. She faced 36 batters over seven innings with eight strikeouts and nine walks.

The JV Tigers improved their record to 5-2 in league play, 10-3 overall.

Douglas is hosting the Nicole Snyder Memorial Tournament this weekend at Stodick Park. The Tigers open today with a 3:45 p.m. game against Reed and then play Wooster at 5:30 p.m.
