Coleville softball hosts Pyramid Lake

Coleville High’s softball team will be looking to end a three-game losing streak Saturday when its hosts Pyramid Lake in a Northern Division IV doubleheader.

Action in the first game is scheduled to begin at noon on the Coleville softball field.

Coleville (2-5 overall, 0-2 league) dropped a 10-1 decision to Yerington on Tuesday.

Stephanie Sandoval hit 2-for-4 with a double and one run scored while Jackie Saldivar went 2-for-3 to lead Coleville offensively. Thais Oda and Shaylor McCann also hit 1-for-3.

Miranda Sturdivant pitched the distance for Coleville, allowed six earned runs on 10 hits. She also had one strikeout and one walk.

The Wolves lost both ends of a league double header at home last week against Eureka, 11-1 and 10-3.

On March 15, Oda pitched a three-inning no-hitter in Coleville’s 19-0 victory against Silver Stage during the Yerington tournament. Sandoval hit 3-for-4 with three RBI and O’Laire Herrera 2-for-4 in that game.
