CVBAHoops kickoff

The Carson Valley Basketball Association (CVBAHoop) had a gym full of young players — from boys and girls ages third through 11th grade — Sunday for a combination of sign-ups and open gym. “This was the largest turnout we’ve had ever for our opening sign-ups,” club spokesman David Pfaffenberger said. “In our first week, we’ve had 95 boys and girls sign up already.” The program fields age group teams, which are now in the process of being organized for the spring season. Online registration is still being taken and practices will begin next week, Pfaffenberger noted. He also acknowledged the assistance of corporate sponsors for “helping make this a special day for us and our clubs” — Cookie Boy, (Brad Cockman), Big Daddy Bike and Ski Shop, and Tahoe Orthopedic.
