Carson Valley Middle School students were released to their parents at about 3:50 p.m. Wednesday after no gun was found.
A report of a gun prompted officials to lock down the school for several hours as Carson City Sheriff’s deputies searched for the weapon
“We do not know the truthfulness of the report we received,” said Superintendent Richard Stokes. Parents must have been on the emergency contact list for the student they are trying to pickup.
Carson Middle School went on lockdown after a student reported seeing another student loading a gun. Law enforcement in riot gear responded to the school, and officials asked that parents not come to the school.
